A reborn doll is a manufactured vinyl doll that has been transformed to resemble a human baby with as much realism as possible. The process of creating a reborn doll is referred to as reborning and the doll artists are referred to as reborners.

MATERIALS

Reborn dolls can be silicone or vinyl. The babies I create are not your typical vinyl dolls you would find in a store. The vinyl that is used to create Reborns are softer with a little bit of Squish.

Each baby that I create is with many layers of Genesis heat set paints, that require baking in order to cure. Complete with birthmarks, veining, mottling, milia and sometimes baby scratches. These beautiful pieces of art are then weighed with fine glass beads and polyfill. They are then assembled to a doe suede body. This gives the beautiful reborn doll a lifelike feel. Eyelashes are also hand rooted With mohair. Many times I will attach a magnet to the inside of the baby's head so it can take an altered magnetic pacifier.

WHY BUY A REBORN?

You might be asking yourself, who would purchase a reborn?
Reborns are purchased by those who love art. They are purchased by those who no longer have children in the home, and long for a little baby to hold. Reborns are also purchased for therapeutic reasons, such as cuddle therapy. cuddle therapy is beneficial for everyone! Including those who have lost babies,  those who are suffering from Dementia, as well as Alzheimer's.

WHO ARE REBORNS FOR?

Reborn dolls are beautiful hyper realistic baby dolls and are pieces of Art.
They are meant to be carefully handled, and loved on.
Reborns are not for young children. With discretion and maturity you may choose to buy your older child a reborn, with a reminder that they should be as gentle with this doll as they would with a newborn.

CARE

NEVER SUBMERGE YOUR REBORN IN WATER. When your reborn becomes dusty, simply wipe him/her off with a damp soft wash cloth. Never use soaps or cleaning products containing alcohol, or baby wipes on your reborn.
Be gentle with the limbs as you would a real baby. Always wash baby clothes prior to putting them on, especially denim or dark colors to avoid any possible dye transfer to your reborn.
Be heat aware. Any extreme heat or extreme cold can damage the vinyl. No leaving them in a hot car. Avoid leaving your reborn under direct sunlight to ensure paint won't fade over time.
Avoid anything sharp or rough near your reborn to avoid damaging the paint.
